Bethamy Center has been serving the needs of clients since 1959. Family owned and operated, we strive to serve clients in a home type atmosphere, meeting their needs with activates of daily living in the least restrictive atmosphere as possible. Our great success has been made possible because our clients feel Bethmay is their home and they are part of our family.
We use the Eden Alternative approach, activates that are physically challenging and lots of day trips to challenge clients to keep the pace of the normal daily routines they have had at home. We coordinate their care with their physician, dentist, therapist, YMCA, optometrist, mental health or any other clinical care that is appropriate for their best health care needs.
Our clients enjoy their privacy as the majority of our rooms are private with semi-private or private bathrooms available. Our prices are affordable; starting at $1600 to $2500 per month. Our services include 3 meals, 3 snacks, medication management program, I house doctor and nurse, daily activity programs, beauty and barber salon and transportation to doctor and hospital appointments.

EDUCATION

As a mother, Susan Morris wants greater accountability for failing schools and an emphasis on core subjects like math, reading, and history. As the next State Representative, Susan will work to recruit and retain the best qualified teachers and require teachers to be proficient in the subjects they teach.
Susan Morris supports re-directing money from the bureaucracy to the classroom. She wants to give local schools flexibility in deciding how to allocate their resources.

TAXES

Susan Morris is a strong supporter of allowing people to keep more of their hard-earned paychecks and using tax cuts to stimulate our state’s economy. She has already signed the “No New Taxes” pledge and Susan is in favor of suspending the gas tax until prices come down.
Susan Morris understands that new growth will help individual investors prepare better for their retirement, children’s education, or future needs. Most importantly, growth in our economy will create new jobs and spur opportunity for thousands of North Carolina residents.
Susan Morris supports tax cuts to stimulate the economy and ease the burden on the taxpayers.
ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
“Our nation is a country of immigrants who have made this country great but who also did it by earning their citizenship legally.”
Susan Morris believes that North Carolina needs a stringent plan to deal with the pressing issue of illegal immigration. She sees the issue of illegal immigration as one that threatens the state’s economy by overburdening the state’s social service budget and one of homeland security.
The provisions of Morris’ immigration reform plan include:
• Require businesses that do work for the state to verify a workers’ immigration status
• Create stronger penalties for those caught making fake IDs
• Require the courts to verify the citizenship of any individual appearing in a state court
• Prohibit legal state residents from being bumped off public housing lists by illegals
• Require identification in order to receive state and local services
• Stiff punitive penalties for knowingly hiring illegal workers
• Prohibit illegal aliens from obtaining driver licenses by significantly tightening regulations
• Withhold funding to cities that participate in the sanctuary policy for illegal immigrants. The practice of sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants has allowed violent criminals to enter the country and commit crimes within in the United States.
Morris believes that her common sense approach will stop North Carolina from acting like a magnet for illegal aliens.
